About Night Spirit
Like how stars align, is the story of how Night Spirit began. When daylight leaves us, things change. The moon comes out, and the creatures of the night come out to play. One night, when the sky was adorned with stars, and a vibrant full moon had made its presence known – Joe made a wish. To Joe’s surprise, the moon – spoke back, and kept speaking to him, both while awake and in the embrace of dreams. Joe’s mind was on fire, and knew that the night called out to him, and that there were things that had to be done.
Night Spirit was formed by one man answering the call of the night, and by others, believing in Joe and his vision. Among the group, are members from Blue Oyster Cult and those who have graced the stage with Within Temptation, Bumblefoot and Epica. Night Spirit is going to conjure up things that really do go bump in the night, and show you that these children of night – know how to take you on a midnight joyride.
Joe (affectionately known as “Animal” or “Joe Metalluzzo”) is the spirit of Night Spirit. His unique baritone voice brings a supernatural twist to the music that he writes, and executive produces. Joe also loves to put his visions into other various types of media as well. He is currently in the process of writing an action/horror comic book that will bring the album’s themes into a new perspective. He is a big fan of llamas with personality, and majestic awesome dragons.
Joe was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at a very young age. He wasn’t always able to go out and play – so he relied on his imagination to pass the time, when he wasn’t in school. 80’s cartoons, video games, and his action figures helped nurture his then budding creativity. Eventually he would come to realize that even though he had some physical challenges – he found out exactly that – that they were only challenges that were meant to be triumphed over.
Joseph was born in Brooklyn, and currently resides in his dragon cave in Staten Island. When Joe is not writing, or tracking – he enjoys reading, watching TV shows/movies, going out to a show, sending llama pictures to people randomly, and being around people that he cares about. He likes to laugh at how shitty he is at bowling.
